What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the abdomen is used to evaluate the abdominal organs such as the pancreas, liver, portal vein, gallbladder, common bile duct, kidneys and spleen.

How To Prepare:
This exam requires that you be fasting for 6-8 hours, no food or drink. 

What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the breast is used to evaluate the breast tissue for cysts or masses.

How To Prepare:
No special preparations are required for this exam. 

What To Expect:
Obstetrical ultrasound is used for early pregnancy and anatomical survey of the fetus at later stages of the pregnancy. 

• For early pregnancy, vaginal ultrasound is routinely used for detailed imaging of the fetus. Typically, used for size and dates. 
• For later pregnancy ultrasound, a complete anatomical survey of the fetus is performed. 

How To Prepare:
This exam requires a full bladder. Please drink 32oz of water an hour prior to the exam. 

What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the pelvis is used to evaluate the pelvic organs such as uterus and ovaries. Standard protocol typically includes a vaginal ultrasound technique that will provide the radiologist with improved detailed images. This technique will not be used for non-sexually active patients. Patients have the option to decline the vaginal component, however, understand that the quality of the exam may be limited.  

How To Prepare:
This exam requires a full bladder. Please drink 32oz of water an hour prior to the exam. 

What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the prostate is used to evaluate the prostate gland for cysts or masses. Bladder volumes are also included.

How To Prepare:
This exam requires a full bladder. Please drink 32oz of water an hour prior to the exam. 

What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the scrotum is used to evaluate the testes for cysts or masses.

How To Prepare:
No special preparations are required for this exam. 

What To Expect:
Ultrasound of the thyroid is used to evaluate the thyroid gland for cysts or masses.

No special preparations are required for this exam.
